Aam Aadmi vs Corruption

Aam Aadmi vs Corruption

Three cheers for Aam Admi… but where is he? …what all I can see around is… Bekar Admi and Khas AdmI Of late, it has become  sort of fashionable to use the word Aam Admi for anything and everything. As if, it’s  a coinage with a proverbial strength. It can justify all your governance and mis-governance. It can win you elections. It can make you look like a dedicated fighter for a cause. It can make you feel like a  protector  or a big messiah .. One  simple word and so much of utilities , if you know how and where to use it .

So for anything, our govt. , oppositions and for that matter any or many in politics or media would talk about the proverbial Aam admi. Petrol price hike ? Aam admi is talked about. Power tariff increases…. Again  Aam  admi is the centre of discussions. Milk price hike…. what will happen to Aam  Admi? Fight against corruption…naturally to save the Aam Admi Inflation, inflation, inflation…how will the Aam admi live ?… The link goes on and on… Now, who is this Aam admi? What is shape and size? Where he lives and what he does?

Why the whole nation is busy talking about him every now and then…for anything and everything? A little groping…and I discovered a different truth, that I still think may not match to the perceptual  imagery  of Aam admi …as many may tend to see. A little insightful, I tried to see the image of Aam admi in my mind’s eye, I found  something more revealing…though perplexing. In a 120 crore population , can you guess how many are Aam admis ? Those who are hard hit by inflation and things like that.? 60 crore.? 80 crore? 100 crore? Closer to that? NO. hink again. You may soon see a different reality. A shocking reality! Yes, there you are. If you, by chance, tend to think that the teeming, suffering millions in any dark corner of our country are also Aam admis …think again!!. These 70 to 80%  of the population …say about 80 to 90 crore people… I call them Bekar Aadmi. Yes, make no mistake. I repeat it. They are Bekar Aadmis …and they  have hardly to do anything with rising inflation. In fact, their extremely low end life is out of that circle of rising consumerism vs. inflation Why you know?

Simple! Because they hardly consume anything. Other than just two dry breads or a handful of rice. Do they have washing machines? …NO. Fridges?… NO. do they have anything you can think of as a mark of rising consumerism? Scooter, motor bikes,  cars, televisions,  micro wave, kitchen appliances, dining tables, flower pots etc etc. Well, they have none. They  are the majority- Bekar Aadmis. Who just exist in this country , just eating something and taking some free fresh or polluted oxygen. They don’t drink milk. They don’t drive cars or bikes.

Hardly they move out. They hardly consume any power. So inflation hardly hits them. Simply because they are out of the circle. Then who is that Aam admi that gets the jolt again and again? Naturally the rising middle class. Both urban and rural. Those who aspire,  try, acquire and consume. Milk, petrol ,  power or anything. .. They have Tv. Fridge, coolers, Ac, washing machines… they move to malls, shop, buy they do styles…eat at restaurants …etc etc. Which means the whole economy of consumption and growth index  revolves around them.

What does Prime Minister, Finance Minister talk of GDP growth rate of 9% to 10%. Sir, it is just because of the consumption pattern of this “Aam Admi”. These 10 to 20 percent  people are the worst hit. And  the govt. can’t save them. Imagine, if the numbers were larger…. what would have the govt. done? Now ,  after the Bekar Aadmis and Aam Admis …who else is left.? Well, I call them Khas Aadmis… They are that 5% of the nation who control the 95% of almost everything. Power, politics, wealth and what not. These Khas Aadmis hardly bother about the inflation or the price rise.

They have learnt the art of taking the nation in their hands and running it everyway for their benefits. INFLATION? WHAT IS INFLATION? …They may ask, if you dare asking them about the jolt of price hikes… That is the state of our nation and our real picture of Aam Admi.. Now, do you get a changed picture of Aam admi than what you used to think? So…if the govt. can’t handle just the 10 to 20 % of the populations who are the real Aam admis, what to think of  all those who are yet to consume and suffer because of inflation.?

Any increase of Milk, Petrol, Vegetable, Sugar, Pulses tremble the heart of “Aam Admi” like earthquake. But what does the “Khas Govt. ” know about the problem of “Aam Admi”. Yes, it can talk of “Aam Admi”. Because that is the “Vote Bank” of this “Khas Govt”. It’s time the Govt. stop for a moment and take stock of the nation’s affairs. It’s time to seriously think the way we are heading . It’s time to get the clear picture. So that one can think of the clear direction …to take or not to. What do you think?
